Information Systems and Cybersecurity

As part of UTSA’s new College of AI, Cyber and Computing, the Department of Information Systems and Cybersecurity prepares students for high-impact careers in one of today’s most critical fields. The department offers award-winning programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, including a fully online B.B.A. in Cybersecurity, one of the top-ranked programs of its kind in the country.

UTSA is designated by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as a Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), and Cybersecurity Research (CAE-R), making it one of only ten institutions nationwide to earn all three distinctions.

Our program assists in meeting the national demand for information security professionals trained to defend America’s cyberspace. Students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and techniques in biometrics, data mining, database management, intrusion detection, and cyber forensics. With guidance from expert faculty and access to modern labs, they graduate prepared to protect and strengthen digital infrastructure across industries.
